”Carpenters, blacksmiths and other technicians were the base of the repairing and construction machines industry related to the textile industry. The post-war period obliged all these technicians to build the machines that were forbidden to import, and obliged them to develop new skills in applying a variety of new techniques. This training allowed them to open new perspectives when the hardest period of the post-war had passed, and the metal branch offered new opportunities. One of this opportunities was in the expansion of the car in general, and in the appearance of new demands, like a car for the modest families. This is what happened with the PTV.
The creators of the PTV changed a car repair business into the factory of the PTV in 1953. The PTV was a small car, utilitarian and quite cheap, which would develop into the first car for a lot of Catalans, in competence with the Biscuter produced in Barcelona. 1.500 units were produced.”
